Labradorite
By LeopardMoon
Can anyone tell me anything about
Labradorite? I was given some on Sunday, and it has quite an
unusual sheen to it, as you move it around. I'm not familiar
with this at all! I'd appreciate any info. Thanks.
Lotus:
Astrological Signs: Sagittarius,
Scorpio & Leo Vibrates to the number 6 and 7 Labradorite
is actually a type of feldspar and not always easy to find.
It's colors can range from yellow, white to grey. It is not
unusual to find an spectrum of broad patches of color including
peacock blue, dusky gold or coppery red running through the
stone. Labradorite is said to represent the "Temple of
the Stars," opening the door to other planes. It is also
said to bridge the scientific/intellectual with the mystic/psychic
worlds. Strongly associated with enhancing all psychic abilities.
It is thought to protect the aura from energy leakage, enhance
intuition, improve rational thought and help use power wisely.
Because it enhances psychic ability, protects, improves the
intellect and teaches the responsible use of power, it is referred
to as the Wizard's Stone in mystic circles. Interestingly Labradorite
symbolizes both the Moon and the Sun. Healing Properties of
Labradorite include: Treatment of brain disorders Stimulate
mental ability and reduce mental agitation Reduce anxiety and
stress Assist in digestion, regulation and metabolism Helps
with night vision
LeopardMoon:
Thank you so much, Lotus!
That is so interesting....I'm a Sag! The Labradorite I have
is a greyish green, with the peacock blue sheen. It's about
the size, and shape of a tennis ball, maybe a little bigger.
I'm really looking forward to working with this stone.
MizzMo:
I love this stone. My sister
calls it the dog rock.
LeopardMoon:
Greetings, MizzMo. At the
risk of seeming really stupid, I've got to ask you.......why
does your sister call it the "dog rock"?? lol I have
a very red face, and am suffering from terminal embarrassment
and mortification. I can't believe I asked that question, MizzMo
but what a good lesson for me to learn.....I tend to look for
answers with "hidden" meanings, and obtuse answers,
so now I know to sometimes look for the answer right in front
of me, the "easy" one!! Thanks for that
Lesson, Mizz!
Lisa:
Hi,I love this stone, its
also a great companion through growth and change!
LeopardMoon:
Hi Lisa, Thanks for the
info, I appreciate it!
MizzMo:
A year and a half, 2 years
ago, my sister showed a spark of wishing to open and learn.
I was hand picking her stones that I felt would aid her growth.
Labradorite was one of the, She was pretty new, so remembering
the names wasn't very easy for her. The properties in labradorite
had many attributes that seemed to speak out to me for her.
""Labradorite is said to represent the "Temple

name, but could remember it had a dogs breed in it, labrador,
so then came her calling it the dog rock. She felt it was a
protective stone for her too.
Mouse:
And they have such a soft
nature too . I heard that Labradorite was named after the Labrador
Islands?
Lotus:
Yes, that's true Mouse,
Labradorite is named after the location in which it was first
discovered, Labrador. Only the finest Labradorite showing beautiful
colors comes from East Labrador. In addition, it has been found
in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, in Essex and Lewis
counties. Some has been found in Finland and a fine grade in
Madagascar. Finally pale yellow crystals have been found in
Utah, California, Oregon and Texas. I'm not aware of other places
Labradorite is found but there could very well be more.
CinnamonMoon:
Labradorite (Spectrolite)
"Lore of the Inuit peoples claim
Labradorite fell from the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis,
an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering
in a mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen
realms. It is, in every sense, a Stone of Magic, a crystal of
shamans, diviners, healers, and all who travel and embrace the
universe seeking knowledge and guidance.
For self-discovery, it is excellent
for awakening one's own awareness of inner spirit, intuition
and psychic abilities.
Labradorite is also the most powerful
protector of the mineral kingdom, creating a shielding force
throughout the aura and strengthening natural energies from
within. It protects against the negativity and misfortunes of
this world, and provides safe exploration into alternate levels
of consciousness and in facilitating visionary experiences from
the past or the future." (1)
"This highly mystical and protective
stone raises consciousness and deflects unwanted energies from
the aura. Holding esoteric knowledge, it takes you into another
world or into other lives. This crystal helps banish fears and
insecurities and the psychic debris from previous disappointments,
strengthening trust in the universe. Labradorite removes other
people's projections, including thought forms hooked into the
aura. With Labradorite, analysis and rationality are balanced
with inner sight. Labradorite is a useful companion through
change, imparting strength and perseverance." (2)
"Wearing or carrying Labradorite
allows one's innate magical powers to surface. It enhances the
mental and intuitive abilities of clairvoyance, telepathy, prophecy
and coincidence control, and assists in communication with higher
guides and spirits in accessing Akashic records, psychic readings
and past-life recall. It provides an ease in moving between
the worlds, and permits a safe and grounded return to the present."

"Beneficial for: witness during
radionic treatment, aligning physical and etheric bodies, pms,
removing warts (tape and leave in place),vitality originality,
patience, eyes, brain, stress, regulating metabolism, colds,
gout, rheumatism, hormones, blood pressure." (2)
