Citrine

I know next to nothing about crystals
and stones. I seem drawn to citrine beads for a gift for my
daughter. Anyone have any info on it?

Citrine and its properties
Physical properties of citrine: Citrine is in the quartz group,
its name derived from the lemon yellow color. Natural citrine
is usually pale yellow. Many citrines found on the market are
heat treated amethysts, these will show a red tint. Citrine
has a hardness of 7 on the Mohs' scale, and has a specific gravity
of 2.65. Metaphysical properties of citrine: ... (see Note on
Properties) Citrine is related to the sun. Like the sun, its
vibrations are positive, uplifting, and energizing. This makes
citrine a good choice for people that could use a little extra
motivation. Citrine's energies have an energizing effect that

why this feels right for my daughter right now...she's a Gemini.
Perhaps, the energy towards motivation, not sure. Speaking of
Gemini...I'm a Capricorn and have always had such difficulty
getting a grasp on what my daughter is all about. Is that the
duality of Gemini? Cap is such a round peg in round hole person
(often to their detriment)...my daughter just doesn't give a
rip! LOL Or, at least, that's the impression she gives. Perhaps
Citrine might give the duality a focus? Or is that just the
Cap speaking?

Dreamer! I am Gemini too, but there are a variety of Gemini
in the world. We have different sign of Moon, Venus, Mars, Mercury,
Jupiter, Saturn etc... in different elements. What moon sign
(or birthday) does your daughter have? It isn't that duality
of Gemini, we are just longer a child! Curiosity keep us young...hahaha...

I'd hazard
a guess and say it's to do with balancing the yin/yang aspects,
finding a solid place within oneself -- perhaps also the Sun
and finding Light at this stage in her life.

Oh, geez, I should dig
out her chart. I've only dabbled in astrology, but I have analyzed
a few charts. My daughter's, however, still left me up in the
air. Everyone else seemed to fall - plunk! - into place, but
not her. Sigh... Typical...always keeps me guessing! Mysterious.
Maybe it's that child playing games with me, Usagi! She does
seem the eternal child....thought it was just me as her mother
wanting to see the child I once knew. The yin/yang does make
sense, though, Mouse. I'll have to think on that.

so much fun to have a daughter that's a Gemini. They can drive
you crazy and keep you stirred up till you despair of their
ever calming down. Mine is 34 now and has integrated into a
marvelous woman.

Geminis handfuls for our mothers? My mom is Pisces, and she
says 'I am a romanticist...I like to hear the songs of birds!'.
she is enchanted with birds. I say 'Bread is better than the
songs of birds!' I always associate birds with a meal. hehehe....

Lovely Star, Citrine is a beautiful stone for balancing and
aligning the chakras and gifting your daughter with a Citrine
will be a wonderful stone for her. It is especially useful for
grounding the energy of the root chakra [first], something that
may very well be beneficial to her. The color, whether yellow,
golden or amber brings upliftment and helps clear away negative
energy on all levels. Citrine vibrates to the number six therefore
if the number six has any meaning to your daughter, the Citrine
will bring an added bonus.

would citrine be the
appropriate stone to use if I was feeling off-track in life,
and kinda down? I guess I'm looking for something that would
give me strength physically (health) as well as mentally....

You
know Citrine as mentioned has wonderful properties but so do
many other stones. Citrine is an excellent stone to help balance
our yin and yang energy. So you can certainly use it for the
purpose you mention. At the same time, I would recommend you
visit a crystal store and let your first impression or see what
stone you are drawn to help you find the one for you.
