Can anyone here tell me the latin name for white sage? Not sure
if seeds are available in New Zealand,
and there are several things on the market that claim to be
white sage, so I want to make sure.
Some people say it's a salvia, others a lantana. Any other information
would also be gratefully accepted.

Mouse:
As far as I know, White Sage as used in ceremonial settings
and for cleansing and smudging, is Salvia
Apiana and is of the Lamiaceae family.

Why not check with the Fair Oaks Horticulture Center. They list
Salvia Apiana in their
collection. This sage is one of the more difficult to grow outside
its natural habitat and takes 3
years to mature.
